I Just Meant to Delete the List

If it’s happened once, it’s probably happened to someone else: a client new to Daylite recently selected all the contacts in a smart list and pressed Delete, intending to just get rid of the smart list. Of course, that deleted the contacts from the database—not what he expected.
To delete a smart list itself—which, by the way, doesn’t delete the items in the list—you have two options:
- Control-click (or right-click) on the smart list and select Delete “name of list”
- Click once on the list to switch to it, after a pause click to select it, then press Delete
The same actions can be used for a regular list. If you do want to remove an item from a smart list, though, you will need to either change the criteria that causes the item to show there or change the data for the item that causes it to match the criteria.
