Billings Pro for iPad Released
Billings Pro for iPad is finally here! Version 1.7 of the app is universal, running on both iPhone and iPad, and has an all-new interface for iPad.
I really think you’re going to like how Marketcircle has taken advantage of the available real estate in the iPad. The BPT home screen shows your most important invoices (those past or coming due) and a selection of projects and clients. (I’m still not sure how BPT is deciding which projects and clients to show.) Settings, slip creation and incomplete timed slips are just a tap away.
Also a tap away are lists for all invoices, projects and clients. The client list is so much better than what’s found on the iPhone, since you can see the retainer, overdue, current, and unbilled balances for each client. You can also sort clients alphabetically, by A/R status, and by client group. Project and invoice lists, only available on the iPad, have similar data and sorting options. And invoices, projects, and clients can also be created from the home screen, something that on the iPhone takes at least one additional tap.
Unfortunately, even though iOS 7 was also released today, BPT has a non-iOS 7 UI. Marketcircle has said it will be some months before the app will be updated with the iOS 7 look and feel.
When I check the App Store, I don’t see an update available on my iPhone or my iPad (I’ve been running the iPhone version on my iPad for some time), but if I search for Billings Pro I see “Update” rather than “Buy” or “Install.” Strange.
